First Baptist Church Colstrip  

 

Our Goal is to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) in:

 

  • Our city by partnering with other churches in our community to provide ministry to our community,

 

  •  Our part of Eastern Montana by working with the Big Sky Association of Southern Baptists,

 

  •  Our state through the Montana Southern Baptist Convention,

 

  • And our country and the world by cooperating through the Southern Baptist Convention.

A Brief Church history
 
First Baptist Church Colstrip was a church plant of First Baptist Church Forsyth, Montana. They saw a need for a place for Baptists to worship in Colstrip.  Rev. E.L. "Dutch" Robertson was the pastor from 1975 until 1976.
 
The church called Rev. Andrew Goodwin as pastor in 1976.  Andrew said, "that when he arrived the only members were him and his family as everyone that was there had moved on to other construction jobs."  He went to the mountaintop and prayed the church into existence once again.  The church was officially constituted on October 19, 1976. Rev. Goodwin served the church until 1979.

  • John Lane 1991 - 1993
  • Charley Clifton 1994 - 2000
  • Lee Jackson 2001 - 2004
  • Mike Andrews 2005 - Present

FBC Colstrip is a local body of baptized Believers who are: 

  • Autonomus in our government, 
  • Cooperative in ministry, 
  • Who have Jesus as Lord and Savior,
  • The Bible as a standard for faith and practice,
  • And the Holy Spirit as our guide.

 

Though autonomus we cooperate with:

 

 

  • Colstrip Ministerial Association

 

 

  • Montana Southern Baptist Convention
